After only one week at the San Marcos location I sadly Cancelled my Peak membership with Crunch Fitness after I moved to Carlsbad for a job. I had been with Crunch for over a year and enjoyed the benefits of the peak membership at other locations when away from home. I apologize for being upset about the matter, but we were sent to collections. Who physically walks in to CLOSE and account but yet… there’s more! #hiddenfees? Your company already makes it painfully difficult to cancel a membership, your manager at the San Marcos location is conveniently ‘out’ when we call to speak to someone, but then when someone physically walks into your establishment to close their account, you can’t successfully end the relationship in peace there either? Two charges weren’t enough? The third wasn’t caught before she walked out? You couldn’t have mailed us a bill? Sorry we don’t live across the street to come watch your manager’s 1, 738 lunch breaks… but return a phone call at least. This was the day she PHYSICALLY walked in, confirmed closure of her account, and was told everything was complete. Please note on August 6, 2015– my wife was charged $ 9. We’ve only spent a couple hundred dollars over the life-line of our memberships, but you send us to collections for $ 10? After selling a house, you will be trying to buy again, right? Just checked my wife’s credit score– she was hit with a delinquent charge– it’s $ 10 for Crunch! How awesome! Credit dropped 30 points. Today though, we got a call from a collections company in which they claimed we were taken to collections by Crunch for the amount $ 10. My wife and I were clients of Crunch, and until we had to sell our house and move, my wife stayed loyal all the way through. Some patrons are a bit rude but most people in this Crunch community are pretty nice. Overall, great bang for the buck at this gym. The teacher will collect them at the door in numerical order. For popular classes, you’ll need to get a ticket from the front desk to join the class. The group classes offer a variety of fitness workouts including Zumba, yoga, boot camp, etc. The gym facilities aren’t bad, mostly clean and have most things you need. Plus, that way you just go to the gym, get your key tag, have your pic taken, and can get straight to business. Most of the time I don’t need any salesperson to tell me what to get. They dropped the annual fee from $ 69 to 39, $ 1 enrollment fee at the time I signed up online and the Peak monthly fee is only $ 20 being the cheapest I’ve seen as compared even to other Crunch locations! (Yes, it’s a franchise, so they charge different rates and have different equipment, do your homework.) I prefer signing up online because I can then shop around and read all the details. I actually quit my Basic and was looking around for some place else for group fitness, then I’ve found that Crunch Peak offers the best deal in town, comparing to Chuze and LA Fitness. So I upgraded my gym from Basic to Peak mainly because I’m not a fan of using gym equipment but want to do group classes.
